This help article provides step-by-step instructions for configuring your Open-Xchange (POP/IMAP) mailbox in Outlook for Android.
Step-by-step Guide:
1. Open the Outlook app on your Android device.
2. On the top left corner of the app, next to Inbox, tap your profile icon.
3. Then tap on Settings.
4. Under General, tap on Accounts.
5. Select Add Account to add one of your existing email accounts.
6. On the "Add Account" screen, tap Add an Email Account.
7. On the next screen, enter your email address and tap on Continue.
8. Choose if you want to set up an IMAP or POP3 account type (below you can find settings for both setups).
9. Tap on the Advanced Settings button and enter the needed information. Then, continue with the incoming and outgoing server settings:
IMAP Incoming Email Server
IMAP Hostname: imap.siteprotect.com
IMAP Port: 993
Port Security: SSL/TLS
Important: SSL is enabled by default in the Outlook mobile app. If you want to switch to TLS for IMAP, tap on "Security type" and then select StartTls. Also, change the Port number to 143.
IMAP Username: your full email address
IMAP Password: the correct password
SMTP Outgoing Email Server
SMTP Hostname: smtp.siteprotect.com
SMTP Port: 465
Port Security: SSL/TLS
SMTP Username: your full email address
SMTP Password: the correct password
POP Incoming Email Server
IMAP Hostname: securepop.siteprotect.com
IMAP Port: 995
Port Security: SSL/TLS
POP Username: your full email address
POP Password: the correct password
SMTP Outgoing Email Server
SMTP Hostname: smtp.siteprotect.com
SMTP Port: 465
Port Security: SSL/TLS
Important: SSL is enabled by default in the Outlook mobile app. If you want to switch to TLS for SMTP, tap on "Security type" and then select StartTls. Don't forget to change the port to 587.
SMTP Username: your full email address
SMTP Password: the correct password
10. Once done, click on the check mark at the top right section of the Outlook Application.
11. On the last step, you will be able to see the recent account that was added.
