This help article provides step-by-step instructions for configuring your .MUSIC Mail (POP/IMAP) mailbox in Outlook for Microsoft 365.
Please follow the instructions based on the version of Outlook you are using.
This article includes the following sections:
I. Configuration Instructions for "Classic Outlook"
These steps are the same whether you're adding your first email account or additional email accounts to "Classic Outlook for Windows".
1. Select File > Add Account.
Important Note: If you don't see a File tab, perhaps you are using New Outlook for Windows. Go to "Configuration Instructions for New Outlook".
2. On the next screen, enter your email address, select Advanced options, then check the box for "Let me set up my account manually" and select Connect.
3. On the Advanced Setup screen, select IMAP for account type.
4. On the IMAP Account Settings screen, enter the incoming and outgoing server settings below and then select Next.
Incoming (IMAP) Mail Server: imap.siteprotect.com
Port: 143
Encryption Method: STARTTLS
Note: IMAP port 993 can also be used combined with the SSL/TLS encryption method.
Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server: smtp.siteprotect.com
Port: 587
Encryption Method: STARTTLS
Note: SMTP port 465 can also be used combined with the SSL/TLS encryption method.
Important: If needed, you can set up your email account as a POP account by selecting the POP account type on the previous Advanced Setup screen, using the following settings:
Incoming (POP) Mail Server: securepop.siteprotect.com
Port: 995
Encryption Method: SSL/TLS
5. Enter your password and then select Connect.
6. On the "Account Successfully Added" screen, click "Done" to finalize the account setup.
II. Configuration Instructions for "New Outlook"
Note: If the steps under this New Outlook section don't work, you may not be using new Outlook for Windows yet. Go to the "Configuration Instructions for "Classic Outlook" section and follow those steps instead.
1. On the View tab, select View settings.
2. Select Accounts > Your accounts. You can now add a new account.
3. Under Email accounts, select Add Account.
4. Enter your email address and Click Continue.
5. On the "Select your email provider" screen, select IMAP for account type.
6. When prompted, enter your password for the account. Then select "Show more".
7. Before adding your IMAP account to Outlook, the application will try to automatically retrieve the correct email settings. If this process fails, you will need to manually configure the incoming and outgoing server settings.
First, uncheck the option for "Use recommended settings." Then, enter the incoming and outgoing server settings provided below.
IMAP Configuration
IMAP Incoming Server: imap.siteprotect.com
Port: 993
Secure connection type: SSL/TLS
Note: IMAP port 143 can also be used combined with the StartTLS secure connection type.
SMTP Configuration
SMTP Username: your full email address
SMTP Password: the correct password
SMTP Outgoing Server: smtp.siteprotect.com
Port: 465
Secure connection type: SSL/TLS
Note: SMTP port 587 can also be used combined with the StartTLS secure connection type.
Important: If needed, you can set up your email account as a POP account using the following settings:
POP Configuration
POP Incoming Server: securepop.siteprotect.com
Port: 995
Secure connection type: SSL/TLS
8. Once you have filled in all the necessary email settings, click Continue to complete the setup.
Important Note: The new Outlook will allow you to sync your IMAP account with the Microsoft Cloud. It is your choice whether to proceed and agree to the Microsoft terms regarding your account data.
9. On the "Success!" screen, click "Done" to finalize the account setup.
